Constance Bennett.

I discovered Constance in the end of Summer 2009. After Office Hours was the film. Constance charmed me with her elegance. Soon afterwards the idea of a website entered my mind. Simply because I was surprised that this lovely actress is so forgotten nowadays. I felt (and I still do) that she deserves more attention.

"Her classy blonde looks, husky voice and unerring fashion sense gave her a distinctive style. She was known as much for her elegant persona as for her acting career."

I got a copy of Bought (looking forward to seeing it) last week -- so my "want list" has been updated.

July 28, 2011:

Today I re-watched Lady with a Past and I was delightfully "surprised" to see how much I enjoyed the movie. Constance still works for me; she rarely disappoints me. I made a film page for Lady with a Past (1932).

Created new youtube channel for this site!

Added magazine article titled "Why Constance Is Unpopular In Hollywood." It originally appeared in February 1932 issue of Photoplay magazine.
 

 

 

July 19, 2011:

A 16mm print of The Phil Morris Playhouse - Kitty Doone (1954) is currently up for sale on ebay! Updated the television page. Also created the 1954 photos page. 

6 new photos have been added: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06.

Added two new posters: for Sally, Irene and Mary (1925), and Code of the West (1925).

June 15, 2011:

Added a page from a book called Leading Ladies by Don Macpherson, 1986. It's interesting that even in 1986 the author said that... "Constance Bennett is neglected and unfashionable today."  Now, 15 years later, Constance is still somehow being neglected/overlooked.

Added the contact page. Beautiful color picture has been added to the "1930 photos" page.

"Judy Garland - The Live Performances" has been added to the links page.

 

 

June 13, 2011:

May 18, 2011:

I've been neglecting this site a bit lately but I will try to work on it more regularly from now on. I realize that there is still a lot that needs to be done.

Added the links page. I'm pleased to say that Carole & Co. wrote a very nice entry about Constance and  this site.   

Updated the 1930 photos page, plus 26 new photos from 1930 have been added. Also 2 new photos have been added to the 1929 photos page.

Made film pages for: Sin Takes a Holiday (1930), Son of Gods (1930), Common Clay (1930), Three Faces East (1930), This Thing Called Love (1929) and  Rich People (1929).
